My feedback on "Syurga-Islam"

This morning I came upon a blasphemous blog, 'Syurga Islam', which had blatantly insulted Islam. From the postings, the author stated that he/she is a free-thinker. When I tried to access the blog again just now, it had been blocked and opened to invited readers only(when I has been ready to post my feedback to the author). I am not a pious Muslim nor a religious scholar, but I feel that it is my obligation(the obligations of all Muslims) to defend our religion at the highest notch of our knowledges and capabilities.

The most inferior 'iman' is to detest whatever is munkar to our hearts..

I could not remember all the author's point in the latest entry, but I would state 4 salient points which are lingering in my mind and my opinions to such irresponsible remarks.

1. The author challenged the existence of God and questioned on Allah's the Almighty Power and if Allah does not depend from all other entities, He doesn't need any form of worshipping.

: On the existence of God, my justification is on the 'first cause' of the Universe. There must be a 'First Cause' to every creations. Can you imagine any creations without a Creator? Let say the whole universe existed by itself, how can it came into an existence of such a well-arranged order without the planets and the stars collided with each other?

There must be some 'superior power' to order their movement. Even in Physics, the 'Theory of Momentum' states that 'the total momentum' of any closed system which is not affected by external forces cannot change. There is an element of 'force'. So who 'force' this whole universe?

:Why we have to worship Allah?: The word Islam itself means 'the wilful submission to Allah'. The Muslims believed that we are all His creations. Only when you are searching the true path of Islam, you can feel your tremendous love to Allah above anything else. When you love Allah, you must always want to keep-in-touch with Allah, remembering Allah all the time. That's why the Muslims have to performs the fard salah, reciting Quran and Du'a. I give one reasoning. If you fall in love with a sapien of your opposite sex or you love your family, do you want to 'keep-in-touch' with them or stay away from them?

2. The author stated that Islam are racially-biased and enjoined his followers to commit persecution.

: Islam acknowledges the practice of 'freedom of religion'. Refer to the Holy Quran, Chapter Al-Kafirun (109:6); "Unto you your religion, unto me my religion".
Islam also enjoys their followers to mix around with other races and to live in peace. Refer to Chapter Al-Hujurat (49:13); "O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you nations and tribe so that you may come to know one another".

3. The author quoted verse number 5 from the Chapter of At-Tawbah (9:5), which he claimed to inculcate hatred among the Muslims towards other religions.

: This is not true. The author did not make a thorough research on the historical period where and why the verses had been revealed. In fact, if the author moved to verse 6 of the same Chapter, the author would have been acknowledged that Allah ordered those war combatants to grant the protections towards their war enemies if they seek protection. If they refused to accept the words of Allah, THE ENEMIES SHOULD BE ACQUITTED, NOT TO BE KILLED. Please refer the verse and its interpretation for further validation.

4. The author put forward a quotation from Albert Einstein pertaining to God and science, which justified the irrelevancy of the concept of God in life.

: Even in Science, the further discovery can annulled the previous discovery. But this 'fluctuation of human knowledge' does not occurs in any Allah's words in Al Quran. Take for example, the shape of our earth had been opened to floodgates of scientist debates. The earlier century claimed that the earth is flat, whereas the latter discovery conformed that it is spherical. Human knowledge is limited.

As the title tells, I'm sooo happy to get a new phone from my father, as the condition of my old phone was seriously worst. But what makes me feel guilty is about it's brand. It's against the spirit of "Boycott the Israeli Campaign". But that wasn't my fault right?

The euphoric state was culminated when I received a phone call from my sister while I was riding back to sweethome Kelate with my boyfriend's car. She said 'Result tubik doh la!' and it was sooo out of expectation! Alhamdulillah. Buleh amek certificate la kawe sem ni. Yeahh yeahh!!

My sister had just came back from Amareka and I'm sooooo delighted again to see the arrival of my 'Coach Signature Sling Bag' which I had been yearning for years. I know I can't afford the effing ridiculous price here. She bought it from the Coach Outlet at it's factory near Minnesota. Quite reasonable for a cheapskate.=)
And my kind-hearted sister presented a new DKNY watch to me. That's so right on time, thankss a zillion to her. Look at the condition of my current watch.

Apart from that, she gave me a new white shirt attached with black vest as I have to be prepared to enter the 'working field' soon. *sigh*. My aunty gave the yellow mustard Kenneth Cole handbag, together with a whitey silk sash, and a pair of vintage earrings, which had showered me with blissful happiness all day long. Ignore the Fossil. That wasn't my stuff (mistakenly thought it was mine before).

Between the Muslims and the Jews

Today I realize that I had missed the 'blogging world' for 21 days! Almost the same duration with the Zionist devastation on the Palestinian land. All these while I had spent my time reading a book on "In Search of the Truth" (not the real title) and followed the news on the heartless invasion. Today I had just finished reading 'that book'.

After reading several blogs (particularly Tukar Tiub) and the news, I can infer that the invasion was not a war between the Jews and the Muslims. My previous thought was wrong. It was actually a war initiated by the Zionist regime on the basis of political ill-wills, ie to expand their powers. Judaism (the religion of the Jews) and the 'unadulterated Torah' (known as The Holy Book of Taurat by the Muslims) condemned such malicious act. In fact, I had came across an article in The Star, 18 January on 'Jews against Zionism'. The article conveys that the religious Jewish groups (Neturei Karta, Satmar & Dushinski) said that Torah forbids a Jewish state established by force and reject Zionism in the name of their religion!

Though it is clear that it was not a war between the religions, I would like to state my point of views based on the reading materials which I had been referred all these days, to highlight the grassroot of the problem. The main conflict concerns over the concept of a 'chosen race' and the particular piece of the Middle East was granted to Jews as a 'Promised Land'. This is the belief adopted by the Zionism, the nationalistic colonialist concept. Muslims, on the other hand believe all human beings to be the loved creations of God and that no race is chosen above another. All races are equal in Islam. Islam even acknowledged the concept on the 'Freedom of Religion'. Refer to Al-Kafirun (109:6); Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

Zionism adopted the wrong interpretation of Judaism which has been very much corrupted. The bloodthirsty massacres in the conquest of the already occupied 'Promised Land' (the state of Israel) was not enjoined by the Torah. Zionist had relied upon this false notion while slaughtering their enemies or extending their territories, claiming that they were commanded by God to do so. Such claim was intolerable, for if some are 'chosen' it means that the others are 'rejected' and beyond hope!

The tendency to blind fanaticism by the Jewish is spelled out in the Holy Quran. Please refer to Chapter Al-Baqarah (2:84-85). Verse 47 pointed out that the Jewish is the 'chosen race', mainly because the Prophets were chosen from their tribe (Moses A.S, Isa A.S, Jacob A.S, Yahya A.S), but that doesn't mean that they can do anything at their whims and fancies. They are not 'the chosen' because they are superior than others, but because the prophets were chosen among them.

Nevertheless, the Jews had misused the merits given by Allah towards them. They became snobbish, stubborn, and refused to adhere to the path of truth brought by Moses A.S. There are a number of verses where Allah had stressed out on their tribe, usually begin with 'Ya Bani Israel!'. Allah's word in Chapter Al-Baqarah, on the expropriation of "Palestinian land" in Verse 84-85 is indeed true (Please refer!). This is the Miracle of Al-Quran, where it can predicts the occurence of future event! The Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad from AD610 to AD 632 whereas the state of Israel (the expropriation of the Palestinian land by the Jews) came into existence in 1947. What a miracle, Subhanallah!

That is the view in Islam.

I had also taken note on the views of other religion (ie on the Judaism previously) and the Christians. According to the Bible, in the passage Matthew (23:37-39), "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem - killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you would not! Behold, your hose is forsaken and desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say 'Blessed is who comes in the name of the Lord". Clearly, the tendency of the ignorant Jews with the fatal consequences had also been spelled out.

What I can summarize now is that all religions condemned the act of Zionism!

Israel-Palestinian conflicts are not a war of religions. Crusades are over. Zionism are political movement strayed away from their roots. They are a portion of the Jewish fanaticism!

New Year 's Day

It's 01/01/09, 54 minutes past the clock struck 12 and the whole world celebrated the beginning of the Gregorian calendar. Frankly speaking, I have no clear resolution as I found my repetitive resolutions in the earlier years remained undone. Now I loathe repeating the lame mistake again.

Went out with my brother and my guy again last weekend. It appears that I had been fully utilizing my favorite skirt these days (steal from my sister's closet SHH!), pink in color with 'the city of US' printed design. It's actually a piece of fabric bought my aunt from The States and sewed by my mother into a nice long skirt. Mom's great touch makes it soo invaluable to me. Unfortunately I do not inherit her genetic of arts. *sigh*. Paired it up with thrifted cardi, MNG basic tee and Topshop necklace, which I bought at 70% discounted price. Yada yada!!
We goofed at Pasar Pagi, accompanying my brother and my guy to buy their stuffs and next to my favorite thrift shop! Bought 5 pairs of vintage dresses at RM5 each, ridiculously cheap eh? albeit it's soo endearing and worthy for this fussy cheapskate! Oh the day before I grabbed this Star Wars Limited Edition top from Topshop(50% discount!). Though I'm not an avid fan of Star Wars, I think it's unique and comes with a nice tag. Rugi tak beli beb!
The walking around was complete as I had the chance to eat Mi Celup at Restoran Sri Bunga, SS13. I had been craving for weeks to eat this. Trust me, it's scrumptious!

There's no Kenny Rogers restaurant there (I've been craving for Kenny Rogers for quite some time!). So we stopped at Nando's. Fast food restaurant is actually not my cup of tea, but we have no choice since there's no mouthwatering thai tomyam at KLCC right?

Oh ya talking about mouthwatering tomyam, I've been craaaaaving for Thai tomyam since I had a nice one at Nora's Kitchen Bangi last week. It's actually one kind of hawker stall but the food there was marvelous! Betul-betul macam dekat Thai. I wish I can be at Bangi this current moment.:(

Teater Bilik Sulit

While everyone is talking about the Chi Hua Hua movie (do I spell it correctly?), that wasn't the subject of my interest. I am more attracted and looking forward to a play by Hishamuddin Rais.
I got an invitation from SUARAM mail group and they said the place is limited. *Sigh*. The bad news is my guy has a work outside KL this coming weekend. So nobody can accompany me (he's my loyal and constant companion, without any fusses and grumbles). =(

The price ticket is pretty cheap, RM10 (it's actually a donation for the family of the ISA detainees). The play revives around the untold true accounts of the nature of police interrogation on the ISA detainees. That would be an enlightening play which I'll be missed.

Enjoining the haram, forbidding the halal

The article by the Perlis Mufti associating with the above title had sparkled a whirl in my mind. He articulated his depth knowledge on marriage in that article. To quote a line from his speech before his retirement which I endorsed as earth-shattering remarks from a well-known pious Muslim:

"Urusan kenduri kahwin atau walimah telah dijadikan jambatan kesombongan ibu bapa atau keluarga sehingga ditangguh perkahwinan bagi memboleh kenduri besar-besaran dibuat demi menjaga taraf ‘jenama keluarga’. Sehingga ada pasangan yang terpaksa menunggu bertahun kerananya"

I believe such scenarios are typical or not to be exaggerated, had become part and parcel of the Malay community. Such conditions imposed by parents had even led the couples to commit sins outside of the wedlock, so to commit vices are easier than to marry your loved one officially. Everyone wants his/her wedding day to be a moment to be remembered throughout his/her entire life. But could you sustain the consequences when your dream goes beyond your financial capability?Is it worth-taking to borrow loan for the sake of showing-off and later live a miserable life?

I'm not saying that a grand wedding ceremony is wrong. If you have sufficient saving or your parents are rich, a big celebration is worthful. But if you are in the group of 'the exceptions', think twice of the financial restraints afterwards. To quote a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), "Buatlah walimah walaupun sekadar seekor kambing”. Islam enjoined his followers to practice wasadtiyah (moderation) in all aspects.

If I'm going to tie the knot, I will arrange it to be as simple as possible. Do not expect to see me blinking the fake eyelashes and wrinkled a non-stop smile on the wedding altar (pelamin). My future wedding would possibly be:

1) A simple solemnisation (akad) in the mosque would be sufficient. No wedding altar or decorated bedroom.
2) I would not mind if my future husband do not give any single cent of 'duit hantaran' or even the nil amount of the gifts. I won't burden him with financial restraints before or after the marriage or even staking his life borrowing money from 'Ah Long'. I believe that 'Compatibility with each other's company after the wedding day is more important rather than these trivial things'.
3) I always feel delighted with the 'encounter of marvelous food', so I wish my guests will feel the same with a range of different stalls from the traditional Kelantanese cuisines to the Western menus, ala-ala food court. Insya-Allah if I have sufficient budget.
4) Travelling to a few places ala ala backpackers after the wedding, and capturing our best moments so that we can always track down the memory lane.
5) Oh ya, no wedding ring! My fingers can easily get itchy whenever I wear any ring, even the gold one. Love is made from the heaven (as the chapter begins with Adam and Eve).You can never equate your love with a tangible thing kan?

A truly workable team

I can't fall asleep, so I roam about the Net until I come across a news, Zaid Ibrahim caused a stir by appearing at PKR congress and DAP victory dinner. I have to admit that I take my hat off to him in spite of many peoples threw accusations that he is a traitor of his own race.

I believe that he did nothing wrong. Abraham Lincoln had brought the foes into his fold during his tenure and proved that a consensus reached by a mixture of 'yes and no' men had produced a workable team. Lincoln (belonged to Republican) did so by appointing someone from Democrat to be his second war secretary.

The consensus reached by a different perspective views, which comprised of the 'yes-men' and formidable rivals could produce a variety of choices, so that a leader could put himself in other's shoes to speak on different sides of each issues.

Richard Nixon, the 37th US President had proven the bad record with his attitude to consider an adversary as an enemy when he fired his secretary who did not share the same thoughts with him. Nixon is listed among the lowest rank in the poll of unfavorable viewed president.

Recently Obama had convinced the whole world with his approval of Lincoln's ideology. He is considering his front-runner during the Democrat nomination, Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State and EVEN MC CAIN to help him in the senate.

A team of friends and rivals can do much better than the sycophants and yes-men.

I woke up this morning, with a mixture of bitter and infuriated feelings. I gasped, knowing it was just a bad dream of my guy having a secret affair with a short-haired damsel, wearing black collar shirt (the moment I confronted her).

I would not be hesitate to slap the girl if it happened in reality. Thank God it was not more than a nightmare.

Somehow, I could not understand why certain person can fall in love and steal someone's darling. I had once asked my mother "macam mana orang perempuan rasa bila dia rampas husband orang lain?" when I heard she's talking about someone seducing other people's husband.

Someone who steal other's happiness must be awfully ruthless, and their happiness which they build up from ruining other's life would not be long.

I listened to this song over and over again these past few days, which had highly likely cast a magic spell on me. I was hypnotized by the funky animation video, the whistling sound, its tune, and victoria's sweet voice!

There are parts of the lyrics which are so endearing & keep on rewinding in my mind:

new semester started & my bad hair day

Picture taken before leaving, I was deeply in sorrow. It's sooo sickening to think about the Evidence Paper which I have to sit on this coming Friday (masalah sembelit telah menafikan hak saya untuk menduduki peperiksaan pada hari yang sepatutnya.)
My younger sister seemed sooooo delighted with new fragrance prezzie from Abah, before we leaved.

But this guy had cured my tense and sorrows. He never fails to make my day. I heart my gewe to pieces.=) We had our lunch at Johnny's (his favorite place to date, saya tak tau apa Uncle Johhnys letak dalam sup dia sampai gewe saya jd addicted, mungkin resipi celup seluar dalam kot), before we watched Budak Kelantan.

My bad hair day started when I forgot to shampoo my hair and it's so oily and sticky. Hehehe. Then I went to JJ for lunch and only after we reached home I forgot that I haven't go to Maybank to pay the rental.*sigh*. This poor miss scatterbrain had to turn back to the bank. And the most unfortunate incident which turned herself as mad as march hare was when she noticed that she lost her student ID Card, meaning that she cannot entered the library and the most fatal consequence, she will have to 'donate' RM50 to the security, paying off her clumsiness. She went broke this week.

What do I think about that RM50, I can eat Kenny Rogers, or big feast@William Kelana Jaya, or bodoh bodoh bodoh.

The revelation of the skeleton in the closet

Something that I will unveil..hehehe.

When I was 7, I watched P Ramlee movie with my father (Nujum Pak Belalang). At one scene, I was curious when I saw P Ramlee made a cup of coffee using that benda alah color hitam at the back of cooking pan. I asked my father:

Me: Abah,sedak ko wak kopi guno patak kuali gitu? (Does that way of making coffee really have a fine taste?)
My father: Sedaaaaaakkkkk (in a provocative, but sarcastic tone). Try laaa..

I went to the kitchen without anyone noticing and I started to 'collect' the benda alah color hitam tu using a knife. I pour the powder and made my own coffee, put some sugar in it. I sipped a bit..

Pahittttnyoooooooooooo!*I shrieked and followed by a choke.

The muted cry

I was somewhat distracted by the statement of MCA Vice President a week ago pertaining to his suggestion to abolish the mandatory 30% bumiputra equity in local main board companies, to ensure that they stay competitive with the current economic upside down. Such statement had blown my top as much as the resentment caused by the racial sentiment uttered by Ahmad of Bukit Bendera. Playing racial card is a prevalent political gimmick to shatter the building of the nations.

Before I proceed upon to articulate my superficial thoughts concerning the matters, I had made a 'little effort' to dissect the reasonings of his suggestion. Please take note on the words 'superficial thoughts'. To a certain extent, I am somewhat agree upon his statement, but this has to be considered within the ambit of National Economic Policy (NEP) goals and the term of 'racial equality'. Apparently, the objectives of NEP are noble, but one may view that the RACE- BASED advantages would be discriminatory. I am in line with such view. Honestly, I think that in order to eradicate poverty and to ensure the socioeconomic balance, what we have to focus is the real impoverished groups, not on certain racial groups.

Among the goals of NEP is to eradicate poverty and to reduce the socioeconomic disparity between the races throughout the nation. The initial ratio back in 1970 is 2.4(Bumiputra: 33(Non Bumi):63(Foreign Ownership). By the setting of the NEP, the government targetted to move the ratio to 30(Bumi):40(non Bumi):30(foreign ownership). Explicitly, the target has yet to be achieved, but had shown a better improvement. In 2004, the ratio had shown a significant changed. The precise ratio in that year is: 18.7 (Bumiputra): 40.9(Chinese): 1.5(Indian):28.8(Foreign companies):10% etc.

Why the government focused for the betterment of the Bumiputra in NEP?The bumiputras make up the majority, 65% of the population. 27.6 are Chinese, whereas Indian descent comprised 8% of the population. According to a statistic in 2004, the poverty among the Bumi formed the highest percentage amounting to 8.3%, the Indian 2.9%, and the Chinese 0.9%.

From these figures, we can infer that the objectives hits the right line to enrich the Bumi in term of the mandatory policy in order to ensure racial equality, socially and economically. Racial equality should not only been perceived in light of legal aspect, but also social and economic aspect. It is crystal clear that the Bumiputras formed the largest poverty group, thus the motive behind the preferential treatment is justified. It is not to put the Malays in a superior position, but to bring them up to the level of the non-Malays. Repealing the laws will not only fail to create racial equality, but will in fact deepen the cleavage between races. As proposed by Tun Dr M, the 30% equity should be retained as the objectives of the NEP had not been achieved yet.

However, the fate of the poverty groups among the Chinese and Indian should not be neglected. In The Malay Dilemma, Tun Dr M conceded that:

"It goes without saying that if the small number of the non-Malays who are financially handicapped are assisted towards achieving what their richer countrymen had achieved, then the disparity between the Malays and the non-Malays would increase even more".

I do not agree with Tun pertaining to this excerpt. Poverty should be cured without any biasness. That is why the certain leaders reiterated that NEP should be re-structured to provide the betterment for all impoverished communities regardless of their races. NEP objectives should be stayed, but the programme needs minor changes. The current policies of the NEP are known to benefit certain Malay groups crystallized by the practice of nepotism. The rich should not become richer at the advantage of the poor. Hence, NEP should be reviewed to provide a better cure for the economic disease and racial pandemic.

Camwhoring with the thrifted items again

Thrifting is part of my 'must-do' activities during every trimester break. Here at Kota Bharu there's a lot of thrift shops which offer vintage items at an amazing bargain. I went to the thrift shop again this morning and ended up buying this RM5 polka-dotty shirt. Pretty cheap isn't it?At first, I was clueless on how to wear it. After pondering for few minutes, I decided to tie up the 'Atmosphere' butterfly-printed sash (a gift from my sister 2 years ago) coupled with the belt (thrifted from ss 13 Shah Alam). The pinky 'Liz Clairborne' bag complemented my clothes, which is a gift from my aunty in US a few months ago (I jumped to excitement once I received the parcel loaded with plenty of bags and jeans..hehe).

The hunt of thrifting never fails to make my day.=)
Err...but now I can sensed the butterflies in my stomach as the final results will be released on Wednesday. One sure thing, I have to sit the supplementary paper for Evidence as I had missed the exam (constipation screwed my state of health on that day).*sigh*

The attempt of assasination by the Skinheads

Last few days, I came across an article in the Star about two skinheads held over plot to kill Obama. The article conveyed that the two white supremacist skinheads directed their attempt to kill the Democrat candidate, Barrack Obama by discussing their 'killing spree' on the Net. The men planned to drive as fast as possible toward Obama and shoot him from the windows of the car.

The masses believed that they were assigned to the Skinheads group when they found the emblems of 'swastika' and number "14" and "88" on the hood of the car. Special Agent believed that 'H' is the eighth letter of the alphabet and the number '88' stood for 'Hail Hitler'. Well, sounds quite interesting right?

I was somewhat skeptical on why they want to kill Obama, so I searched some informations about the Skinheads on Wikipedia. Correct me if you notice that I put wrong informations. From my little research, I found that the emergence of the racist skinhead became more partisan in 1970s when they were affiliated with National Front British Movement (note that this occured in Britain). These groups who claimed themselves as the working class skinheads blamed the black immigrants for economic and social problem.

By the late 1970s, some were attached to the neo-Nazi groups, who promoted the white powers. In United States, they are known as the right wing skinheads (while the left-wing such as SHARP opposed neo-Nazism) who are conservative and claimed themselves as 'patriotic'. These groups mainly targetted the Jews and the African Americans (the Black), so no wonder they aimed to kill Obama. (Source:Wiki)

Have you ever watched the movie of 'This Is England'? That movie clearly portrays how the racially-motivated skinheads treated the foreign races (by showing their misdemeanors towards the Pakistanis). I was somewhat perturbed by the scene where the skinhead kids robbed the Pakistanis groceries shop, cursing them every time they met, and chasing the Pakistanis when they were playing football. That was sooo rude and outrageous.

The Neo-nazi proposed that"the nation was the highest creation of a “race”, and “great nations” were the creation of homogeneous populations of “great races” working together. A master race (the Whites_ could therefore, according to the Nazi doctrine, easily strengthen itself by eliminating parasitic races from its homeland."

As opposed to such belief, Obama proposed the idea that "There is not a black America and a white America and Latino America and Asian America -- there's the United States of America." His idea of racial unity had been well-accepted by the Americans.

Well, the world is suffering from the financial turmoil today, and US as a driven force plays a vital role. Obama had clearly shown that he offered the best chance of restoring the United States' self-confidence, and even the Economist endorsed Obama for the presidency. This serves a merit towards Obama to grasp for the victory.

If things go according to prediction, the United States would have the first Black president to boot. The dream of Martin Lurther King Jr will become true.

It's not shocking

When I woke up in the morning and read The Star Online, I came across a controversial news, RAZAK BAGINDA ACQUITTED, but the other two cops were ordered to enter their defences. I was perturbed by an assortment of feelings, but I wasn't shock as one could reasonably expect the outcome of the case due to technical defections, the most notable one is the contradicting SD.
I guess I should not make any further comments, I am not well-discerned on the sequence of the trials or the facts/area of laws involved.=)
