Malaysia Today

Sadly, the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had closed the controversial Malaysia Today website, which had been previously known for imparting F.O.C 'political gossips' and ‘hot news’ which can be found nowhere in the mainstream medias

What is so surprising, this move is unprecedented. Note that under the MSC Bill of Guarantees, the government, the government had promised that "There is no Internet Censorship". Now, they had breached their promise. Today Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar put their defence that they should impose the ban because the website contains libellious and defamatory things. Yesterday I had just read a ‘hot gossip’ from the website, pertaining to a SD by this one Indian fella alleging that our current DPM actually practised the Hindu way of life. It made me laugh, but I still wonder on the truthfulness of the allegation.

Coming back to this sudden ban, I’m pondering whether the MCMC is really exercising their regulatory power, or it’s just another politically motivated agenda. If my former thought is their right intention, it would be good as this initiative could be the memorable precedent. But if the latter is true, the Government was not only breaching their promise, but curtailing the people’s freedom of expression & right to information at nook and cranny. How are we going to face the globalization if our rights to receive information are restricted from every angle? The Malaysians are wise enough to judge what is good and what is bad for them. Thus, the MCMC should not be the final arbitrator to curtail our rights.

And oh poor RPK, he already faced several charges in his court. Now it’s like another potshot to him.

Petronas Merdeka Ad 2008

While I was reading The Star this morning, a pop-up ad suddenly came out and I inadvertently clicked on it. Feel so annoyed because there are so many irritating pop-up ad on any online portal these days. Now this one which I thought another annoying ad was from Petronas. A new ad for our upcoming Independence Day. I haven't watch the ad on TV. Saw this boy from 'Hikayat Putera Shazlan' is featured in this ad. I like his talent in acting. So I keep on watching the ad, ignoring my grumbling-conscience at first place.

Afdlin Shauki is also featured in this ad, as Shazlan's father (I dont know Shazlan's real name), but in this ad his name is 'Aiman'. Aiman is a genius boy, has great creativity on inventing new things from junk items. When he asked his dad to buy a brand new 'fish-net' and his father refused, he made his own using mosquitoes net. I hate the part when the boys surrounded this rich snobbish kid with his red pedal car and he hit Aiman's hand when Aiman touched his car. I like the part when Aiman made his own pedal car using the junks spare parts from a car workshop, and when the boys queued in a line, his car is the biggest & smartest! So impressive.

I think that all Malaysian should watch this video, since it can cultivate positive messages. You can see at the end of the ad, the message is "Patience, perseverance & hard work paves the road to success". While somebody might personally feels that this one suits more for "Father's day" ad, I think the message is implied, not expressly been portrayed. It's been 51 years since we enjoyed the freedom from the occupation and conquest of foreign powers. Why?Because our great ancestors had strived for patience and perseverance to free our beloved nation from the grasp of the Whites, coupled with the hard work to build the country, so that we would be able to enjoy what we already had now.

When Afdlin Shauki tossed his account book to Aiman and showed that he had already collected RM 41,718.29 for Aiman to further his studies at tertiary level, I think this one portrays a forlorn moment. Feel like my eyes glands were clogged with water.*Sigh*.. It depicts the hard life of the rural folks of the Malaysians..only after 8 years, they could collect such sum of money, meaning that he could only save RM14.29 per day. Now, think about the per capita income of the rural folks...

Contemplating on the other side of the message despite on what had been laid out by the ad director, I think 'saving' is paramount important, so that we won't be too dependent on the financial aids in case we face any hardship. Thank God I started to realize on the awareness few years back and opened an ASB account. Collected each trimester from my pocket money given by my father and YTM allowances. I don't care if people say I'm a tight-spender/cheapskate/stingy. I draw a budget limit daily, so that I wont overspend my money.

All in all, I give two thumbs up for the ad, the significance in the delivery of the message, and for the Petronas, being the guardian of the wealth of the nations for almost 30 decades.

This is the link for the ad, for smoother ad, without the annoyance of buffering.

Right after Dr.MyintZan boring 1 hour&extra10 mins lecture yesterday, we made up our mind to take a deep-relieving breath @Big Apple. I never tried it's 'Apple Tea' before cos usually back in KB, I prefer to choose ice-blended. So,this time I feel like wanna try it once, tasted ok laa..

I won't let the time swipe my teenhood away (Part 1)

As the title tells, I missssssssssssssss my teenhood pretty bad.:(. How I wish a Doraemon will pop out from my study table-drawer and brings me back to my teenhood. How I wish Alana of "The Girl from Tomorrow" let me borrow her "Time Capsule"..How I wish I could freeze the time so that I would be young and lost in my la-la-land eternally..

These are among my besties back at high school. Sorry for those who are not included, these are the only piece of pic left in my possession. I heart my GF's to the fullest. There are few things that I miss the most:
1) Playing truant - through the back gate or when we have enough guts, even through the front gate (haha) & relaxing at Berek Polis/yam cha @Kedai Kakyah, or enjoying the taste of Mee Goreng Basah.
2) Active in theatre, even the teachers call us the 'artis-artis'. I remembered every time we entered into Math Modern class, Cikgu Wahab would sarcastically accused us of being lazy and too engrossed and lost in our 'glamour world'.*grin*. But I still got A1 for modern maths.:P
3) Big fan of Duta and Sheila on 7.We're like tend to drool seeing his appearance on mags and tv. Every time we practised theatre, we would sat together near Jaydeen's radio and sang in a pilgrim. Sephia was the major hit. Sebuah Kisah Klasik and Sahabat Sejati reminds me to the glory days.
4) Besties called me 'sedo', cos' sometimes I was blur and ignorant with the surrounding. Don't know how to describe in English or even in Malay. Words can't describe the meaning.hehe. But I don't feel offended. Teasing could close our bond. We love teasing each other.
5) We love to see boys with sloppy style and messy hair (Duta and Julian Casablanca of the Stroke was the icon at that time). So everytime we saw these type of guys, we were like "whoahhhhh!" and over-excited.
6) Ugh! I hate marching, as much as I hate sports. There was one time my belt was loosen out while I did the marching practise. Everyone laughs. Huh! Can't bear the embarassment.Lol.
7) We got the punishment for skipping Physical Education subject. Had to "jalan itik" for one volleyball court round by Cikgu Haminah. (Sumpah aku takkan maaf sampai bila-bila). Once I become a lawyer, I wish I can sue her for mental and physical torture.Haha! This are the subject that I hate most, as well as my friends. So everytime this class started we would find a place to hide. Cikgu Suraya would checked the school compound looking for us. Uh and I hate this teacher as well for her sarcastic and bitchy mouth. Once I've graduated and got a job, I would go and find her back.haha.
8) We love doing experiment during Chemistry and Biology class. Had once broken the test-tube. Haha. Cikgu Firdus (our Chemistry teacher) and Mr Chua (Biology teacher) are rocks. These are among the teachers who didn't look down on us. Our group's experiment are always the best one. We could finished it faster than other group and the outcome was great, the result was almost accurate.

Above is the picture for Kebayan theatre in 2001. Guess which one is me?Lol.The 'nenek kucing' one. The one whose sepet eyes were closed was the 'Isteri Tanggang yang Kematu' and the right one is Nyai Tua Kurtok. *Sigh*. This one will always remain, the good old days....

My teenhood were always filled with dreams and laughters..I feel contented, and I never regret of what had been done in the past. The pros build the confidence, and the cons taught me to be a better person. Here is the song which suits the current mood, 'Sebuah Kisah Klasik' by Sheila on 7. Insya-Allah I will continue on the 2nd Part, while I was at MMU soon.

Jabat tanganku, mungkin untuk yang terakhir kali
Kita berbincang tentang memori di masa itu
Peluk tubuhku usapkan juga air mataku
Kita terharu seakan tidak bertemu lagi

Bersenang-senanglah

Mungkin diriku masih ingin bersama kalian
Mungkin jiwaku masih haus sanjungan kalian

New Look!

I'm not talking about my personal appearance neither my hairstyle. I'm talking about my room back at KB. My house had undergone little renovation few months back, so as my cozy room. Had persuaded my mom to renovate my room, according to my own taste. I asked her to make it like a beach chalet room look-alike. Luckily, she agreed and I jumped for excitement!Yay!

Wall-painting in wild-orchid color, wooden floor with bamboo mattress and tall window-pane. Bought the lavender flowers from SSF as it was so cheap after the 50%discount.Yea like usual I love to hunt for cheap stuff! The vase was handed down my my great-grandpa. And I bought the painting from a thrift shop, which costs RM5 only(for an abstract painting!). Actually, I bought this Egypt-painting earlier, with the Cleopatra and Marc Anthony, but I had done a stupid mistake. I re-paint the frame back, and it ruined the painting! Mum nagged me all day long.*sigh*.

So this is the outcome.80% finished(it still under construction).Couldn't wait to 'balik kampung' again.:)
