Eidulfitri ( Day 1)

Happy Eid! In spite of the depression of the coming finals, I can still manage to celebrate the Eid like in the past years. I have to 'steal' some time when the guests were not around to flip on the books and statutes. Was totally and utterly stressed to celebrate Raya with the annoyance of finals (3 hours for each subject, enough to make your butts numb and your body shivering with the icy cold air-cond).

Today, mother cooked Nasi Beriani. I made my own dessert (the Royal Pudding). It's too sweet, like a stimulation to diabetic. *lol*.I baked few cookies (the Ice Cream Cookies and Chocolate Chips), some were bought by my mother. Boyfriend did come to my house, and I forced him to give my 'duit raya', I know he can't refuse, he gave me RM10(hahaha.enough to buy RM10 hotlink topup..:P). This might be my last time to get duit raya(I'll be graduating next year), so I persuade everyone to give me.:D

Seeking forgiveness is the usual practice during Eid, so I would like to tender my apologizes for any mistakes I've done...Salam Eid.Maaf Zahir Batin.

Note: To those whom I had promised to bring the cookies, I would try my utmost best to bake more cookies, we're running out of the cookies stock(aih..so poyo). But trust me,I'm a woman of my words.:)

Another Note: I nearly lost my senses lately with certain unwanted events. Now I had 'accumulated' my senses back, and realized I was too foolish and childish with the previous postings. Haha. Well, we're just a 'homo sapien', cannot run away from doing mistakes right?

Me and my geeky amor

My four siblings and grandmother
Tasting the cookies..hehe
My sister did her raya-grooming

I lost my temper for once in a blue moon

In spite of coming back to hometown, enjoying good meals, away from depression and stress of campus life, one thing had switched off my mood. For once in a blue moon, I lost my temper. I felt screwed. Everything I did FUCKed my day. I laid my ASS off on my FUCKing bed the whole day right after I reached my home. The air was so hot. Even though I turned on the temperature to 16 degrees, it's still FUCKING hot. BF asked mo to go out for Bazaar Ramadan, but I refused to go. Feel extremely FUCKing tired after 10 hours of driving, but I can't sleep.

I feel devastated.I am in the state of AWFULLY EMO all day long.

I rarely express my feeling to anyone else. I rather hold my anger alone. That makes my condition even worst. I can be pretentious to a certain extent. Deep down inside I'm cursing alone.

Right now only I realize that the beliefs 'DON'T CLING TO ANYONE/DON'T TRUST ANYONE' are somewhat true. You cannot be a mind-reader.

I'm a fake pretentious slut, concealing the real me. Blogging could expose my dirty secrets more. I don't want other people to know about all of these, nor did to get people misunderstood. Right now, I think I should set my blog to private, I am the only reader of my own harsh writings, I am the only reader of my dirty little secrets..

Oil Price Formula

I found this one interesting formula in Harakahdaily.Net.

The global oil price per barrel = USD 105 (equals to RM 360.15)

1 barrel equals to 159 litre
The value of ringgit compared to USD = RM 3.43
The price per one litre > RM 360.15/ 159 litre = RM 2.27

Government Subsidy = RM 0.30
So, the price now is supposed to be > RM 2.27- RM 0.30 = RM 1.97 (Erk,the actual price before the hike?)

*Note: I had altered the figures stated in the article, as I had just now check the current value of global oil price in Bloomberg.Com and the value of our ringgit.

Maybe the government did not want to rush and reduce it drastically due to the fluctuation, caused by the US economic crisis. But didn't they made a promise to review it monthly?

Bahasa Ibunda

Sudah lama tidak menulis dalam Bahasa Melayu, tiba-tiba terasa rindu.Buat kali kedua, aku cuba menulis.

Sangat menyedihkan, bila ada kaum-kaum sendiri malu untuk berbahasa Melayu. Seperti yang pernah didengar;

"I sound silly when I speak in Malay", ataupun frasa-frasa yang sewaktu dengannya, waimanya membawa makna yang sama.

Kenapa malu? Hina sangatkah?

Tak kisah lah aku tak termasuk golongan ala-ala "Upper East Side of Hampthon".

Dari berbincang tentang isu-isu 'ketuanan Melayu', mahupun 'tiga garisan' yang kononnya membela nasib kaum Melayu, ataupun 'Malay Power', lebih baik kita mengutarakan isu bahasa Melayu yang kian terhakis.

Home-made delicacies in Ramadhan

Bored with the typical foods at Bazar Ramadhan, which do not suit our Kelantanese taste. So, we planned to make something out of the ordinary. We cooked a range of Kelantanese delights (somewhat influenced by Thais).Bistik Daging for the gravy, along with Siakap Steam & Fried Lala (mixed of sweet, spicy,&salty). Mango Sticky-Rice (Thai influence) for the dessert.

Need any part-time 'bibik'? We're open for hire.*grin*

screwed!

Felt screwed days before the QB interview, adrenaline rushed all over the veins hours before it. Well, the interview was to evaluate whether our Law School could be exempted from the eerie CLP exam. A group of students were selected for each subjects, and I was among the 'unfortunate five' for Professional Practice.

It was unfortunate because I'm not good at talking. Forgive my oratory skills.Yes words are my worst weapon. But it's for the future's sake/I would be embarassed before the panel for remaining silent throughout the interview. I put all my anxiety and 'inferiority complex' away.

The interview began. The first Q popped out, "Do you know what's the meaning of 'without prejudice'?"Ugh,I was perplexed for seconds. I had heard this words before, but never learned or scrupulously checked it's meaning,I'm praying hard that the interviewer won't posed that question to me. Luckily, my fellow comrade, Raghuram volunteered to answer(He told me after the interview that he was familiarized with the term during his attachment). The interviewer seem satisfied with his answer.

The next question was pertaining to the details of the course,"What are the topics under this subject?".I volunteered to answer, since this is an easy question or else I would remained silent throughout the interview.Haha. Both of the panels just nodded.

And the tricky questions began, mostly posed by Mdm Hendon, the ex-president of the Bar Council. I cant recall all the questions, but one was "What is the difference between Bar Council and Malaysian Bar"?Everyone started to stare at each other, hoping one of us could solve the tense. She pointed one by one to answer, but all the answers given by us were wrong. She seem a bit cocky, and gave all of us 5 minutes 'lecture' about the difference.

..it's like the government and its cabinet. Can you see the difference? You can see the Cabinet, but not the government..

The other interviewer asked about the Rules of the Practice and Etiquette."Can an advocate act for himself?"All of us replied 'no'. We were confident with the answer, since an advocate cannot appear in a case where he has to be a witness at the same time. He smirked, and asked "Do you read today's news, concerning Datuk Shafee who sued RPK and there was a comment made by another lawyer that he cannot act for himself?"Once again silence filled the air. My conscience said,"Ugh you cannot expect us to read news la..We were tensed all day long..mane la sempat nk baca paper".Pn Hendon slammed us again for not being aware to the surroundings, lawyers must be updated. And one of us uttered the same matters with my conscience before, she said back "Your life would be more hectic once you do your chambering". Her tongue was so sharp, no wonder a woman like her was a President before.

Questions after questions were bombarded.Mostly relating to the topics under our syllabus, and still ANSWERABLE.Each of us were given space to answer. The interview later asked about the impact of the 1988 judicial crisis.Huan Ren answered this question talking about the intervention of Doctrine of Separation of Powers. The man tricked her with "Why the three bodies should be existed separately"?She talked about "check and balance", something we learned in 1st year which I almost forgot. No wonder Natalie called her "Walking Wikipedia".hehe

The guy keep on testing on our General Knowledge, he inquired on the names of the CJ,President of the COA & CJ of the High Court. I volunteered to answer, since I had memorized all the names during the my attachment at Court. Was fortunate enough, my memory could still recall all the names though 8 months had lapsed. He posed another Bonus Question (as what referred to),"How we should address the Judge of the Industrial Tribunal"?.We were so convinced that it is "Tuan", it was correct.

That hanky-panky ex-president posed another question pertaining to the procedure in the disciplinary proceeding. David answered it, but she said she wants to know the exact term. I said "the investigation should be made if there's a merit, if there's no merit it shall be dismissed". He slammed me for putting the word "a" in front of the word "merit", and said that my answer is right, but the usage of the word is wrong. I was SCREWED again. How could I realized that I make a grammar mistake in such a panic time. Feel like it was a MUET test, the examiner meticulously checked your grammar while you're talking..Huh..

The subsequent question was "Why do you think you should be exempted from taking CLP?".David initiated the answer, contending that our syllabus had complied with the CLP subjects. The guy pinpointed next on me, I conceded that "The period of our legal attachment is the longest compared to another uni, ours is 12 weeks, while other uni is 4 weeks, so we're exposed more to the practical aspect of learning". Raghu hit the interviewer at one point, by telling that "We're familiarized with the English conversation in our daily usage, all of the students here can speak English. There's one student at her attachment place from public uni who can't speak English and responded in BM when people speak English with her".The interviewer seem flabbergasted (yet they know it's not a fabricated statement). Quek bragged about the achievement of the ICRC Moot Comp at International Level, and the panel said that it's not a CRITERIA, but it can be a BONUS POINT.

The final question was "What is your feeling if you will be exempted and call to the Bar?".Everyone has to ask this question. Some said I will feel honoured. As for me, I never intended to practice as an advocate/solicitor. I'm planning to work straight ahead in a legal department of company as 'Legal Exec'.A lazy-ass like me cannot tahan la to chamber somemore after graduating soon and and face all the hardship in the legal profession. So I just give a simple answer, cannot think of better words, I replied "I will be happy".Sounds like a reply from a toddler.

Was tremendously relieved, the interview was over, the 'BLOODY' jurisprudence mid term also over. Both were nightmares. The interview was so tough, I couldn't predict the future of our exemption from CLP, though they said they were impressed with the seniors and some of the interview sessions. I'm just hoping that Zaid Ibrahim will make an announcement on the CBE in short times.

Malaysia Today

Sadly, the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had closed the controversial Malaysia Today website, which had been previously known for imparting F.O.C 'political gossips' and ‘hot news’ which can be found nowhere in the mainstream medias

What is so surprising, this move is unprecedented. Note that under the MSC Bill of Guarantees, the government, the government had promised that "There is no Internet Censorship". Now, they had breached their promise. Today Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar put their defence that they should impose the ban because the website contains libellious and defamatory things. Yesterday I had just read a ‘hot gossip’ from the website, pertaining to a SD by this one Indian fella alleging that our current DPM actually practised the Hindu way of life. It made me laugh, but I still wonder on the truthfulness of the allegation.

Coming back to this sudden ban, I’m pondering whether the MCMC is really exercising their regulatory power, or it’s just another politically motivated agenda. If my former thought is their right intention, it would be good as this initiative could be the memorable precedent. But if the latter is true, the Government was not only breaching their promise, but curtailing the people’s freedom of expression & right to information at nook and cranny. How are we going to face the globalization if our rights to receive information are restricted from every angle? The Malaysians are wise enough to judge what is good and what is bad for them. Thus, the MCMC should not be the final arbitrator to curtail our rights.

And oh poor RPK, he already faced several charges in his court. Now it’s like another potshot to him.

Petronas Merdeka Ad 2008

While I was reading The Star this morning, a pop-up ad suddenly came out and I inadvertently clicked on it. Feel so annoyed because there are so many irritating pop-up ad on any online portal these days. Now this one which I thought another annoying ad was from Petronas. A new ad for our upcoming Independence Day. I haven't watch the ad on TV. Saw this boy from 'Hikayat Putera Shazlan' is featured in this ad. I like his talent in acting. So I keep on watching the ad, ignoring my grumbling-conscience at first place.

Afdlin Shauki is also featured in this ad, as Shazlan's father (I dont know Shazlan's real name), but in this ad his name is 'Aiman'. Aiman is a genius boy, has great creativity on inventing new things from junk items. When he asked his dad to buy a brand new 'fish-net' and his father refused, he made his own using mosquitoes net. I hate the part when the boys surrounded this rich snobbish kid with his red pedal car and he hit Aiman's hand when Aiman touched his car. I like the part when Aiman made his own pedal car using the junks spare parts from a car workshop, and when the boys queued in a line, his car is the biggest & smartest! So impressive.

I think that all Malaysian should watch this video, since it can cultivate positive messages. You can see at the end of the ad, the message is "Patience, perseverance & hard work paves the road to success". While somebody might personally feels that this one suits more for "Father's day" ad, I think the message is implied, not expressly been portrayed. It's been 51 years since we enjoyed the freedom from the occupation and conquest of foreign powers. Why?Because our great ancestors had strived for patience and perseverance to free our beloved nation from the grasp of the Whites, coupled with the hard work to build the country, so that we would be able to enjoy what we already had now.

When Afdlin Shauki tossed his account book to Aiman and showed that he had already collected RM 41,718.29 for Aiman to further his studies at tertiary level, I think this one portrays a forlorn moment. Feel like my eyes glands were clogged with water.*Sigh*.. It depicts the hard life of the rural folks of the Malaysians..only after 8 years, they could collect such sum of money, meaning that he could only save RM14.29 per day. Now, think about the per capita income of the rural folks...

Contemplating on the other side of the message despite on what had been laid out by the ad director, I think 'saving' is paramount important, so that we won't be too dependent on the financial aids in case we face any hardship. Thank God I started to realize on the awareness few years back and opened an ASB account. Collected each trimester from my pocket money given by my father and YTM allowances. I don't care if people say I'm a tight-spender/cheapskate/stingy. I draw a budget limit daily, so that I wont overspend my money.

All in all, I give two thumbs up for the ad, the significance in the delivery of the message, and for the Petronas, being the guardian of the wealth of the nations for almost 30 decades.

This is the link for the ad, for smoother ad, without the annoyance of buffering.

Teatime@BigApple

Right after Dr.MyintZan boring 1 hour&extra10 mins lecture yesterday, we made up our mind to take a deep-relieving breath @Big Apple. I picked up 2 donuts only cos' I was nearly full after lunch few hours before, while all these 'hungry ghosts' picked a box of 6.haha..no offense buds! I never tried it's 'Apple Tea' before cos usually back in KB, I prefer to choose ice-blended. So,this time I feel like wanna try it once, tasted ok laa..

Introducing....(drum beats please!).."The charming Miss Nayrell Musings"

Ok so this one is the picture of the sweetygedik photographer.I dunno why she refused be featured in all these candid pics and camwhoring like always. I won't let the time swipe my teenhood away (Part 1)

As the title tells, I missssssssssssssss my teenhood pretty bad.:(. How I wish a Doraemon will pop out from my study table-drawer and brings me back to my teenhood. How I wish Alana of "The Girl from Tomorrow" let me borrow her "Time Capsule"..How I wish I could freeze the time so that I would be young and lost in my la-la-land eternally..

These are among my besties back at high school. Sorry for those who are not included, these are the only piece of pic left in my possession. I heart my GF's to the fullest. There are few things that I miss the most:
1) Playing truant - through the back gate or when we have enough guts, even through the front gate (haha) & relaxing at Berek Polis/yam cha @Kedai Kakyah, or enjoying the taste of Mee Goreng Basah.
2) Active in theatre, even the teachers call us the 'artis-artis'. I remembered every time we entered into Math Modern class, Cikgu Wahab would sarcastically accused us of being lazy and too engrossed and lost in our 'glamour world'.*grin*. But I still got A1 for modern maths.:P
3) Big fan of Duta and Sheila on 7.We're like tend to drool seeing his appearance on mags and tv. Every time we practised theatre, we would sat together near Jaydeen's radio and sang in a pilgrim. Sephia was the major hit. Sebuah Kisah Klasik and Sahabat Sejati reminds me to the glory days.
4) Besties called me 'sedo', cos' sometimes I was blur and ignorant with the surrounding. Don't know how to describe in English or even in Malay. Words can't describe the meaning.hehe. But I don't feel offended. Teasing could close our bond. We love teasing each other.
5) We love to see boys with sloppy style and messy hair (Duta and Julian Casablanca of the Stroke was the icon at that time). So everytime we saw these type of guys, we were like "whoahhhhh!" and over-excited.
6) Ugh! I hate marching, as much as I hate sports. There was one time my belt was loosen out while I did the marching practise. Everyone laughs. Huh! Can't bear the embarassment.Lol.
7) We got the punishment for skipping Physical Education subject. Had to "jalan itik" for one volleyball court round by Cikgu Haminah. (Sumpah aku takkan maaf sampai bila-bila). Once I become a lawyer, I wish I can sue her for mental and physical torture.Haha! This are the subject that I hate most, as well as my friends. So everytime this class started we would find a place to hide. Cikgu Suraya would checked the school compound looking for us. Uh and I hate this teacher as well for her sarcastic and bitchy mouth. Once I've graduated and got a job, I would go and find her back.haha.
8) We love doing experiment during Chemistry and Biology class. Had once broken the test-tube. Haha. Cikgu Firdus (our Chemistry teacher) and Mr Chua (Biology teacher) are rocks. These are among the teachers who didn't look down on us. Our group's experiment are always the best one. We could finished it faster than other group and the outcome was great, the result was almost accurate.

Above is the picture for Kebayan theatre in 2001. Guess which one is me?Lol.The 'nenek kucing' one. The one whose sepet eyes were closed was the 'Isteri Tanggang yang Kematu' and the right one is Nyai Tua Kurtok. *Sigh*. This one will always remain, the good old days....

My teenhood were always filled with dreams and laughters..I feel contented, and I never regret of what had been done in the past. The pros build the confidence, and the cons taught me to be a better person. Here is the song which suits the current mood, 'Sebuah Kisah Klasik' by Sheila on 7. Insya-Allah I will continue on the 2nd Part, while I was at MMU soon.

Jabat tanganku, mungkin untuk yang terakhir kali
Kita berbincang tentang memori di masa itu
Peluk tubuhku usapkan juga air mataku
Kita terharu seakan tidak bertemu lagi

Bersenang-senanglah

Mungkin diriku masih ingin bersama kalian
Mungkin jiwaku masih haus sanjungan kalian

New Look!

I'm not talking about my personal appearance neither my hairstyle. I'm talking about my room back at KB. My house had undergone little renovation few months back, so as my cozy room. Had persuaded my mom to renovate my room, according to my own taste. I asked her to make it like a beach chalet room look-alike. Luckily, she agreed and I jumped for excitement!Yay!

Wall-painting in wild-orchid color, wooden floor with bamboo mattress and tall window-pane. Bought the lavender flowers from SSF as it was so cheap after the 50%discount.Yea like usual I love to hunt for cheap stuff! The vase was handed down my my great-grandpa. And I bought the painting from a thrift shop, which costs RM5 only(for an abstract painting!). Actually, I bought this Egypt-painting earlier, with the Cleopatra and Marc Anthony, but I had done a stupid mistake. I re-paint the frame back, and it ruined the painting! Mum nagged me all day long.*sigh*.

So this is the outcome.80% finished(it still under construction).Couldn't wait to 'balik kampung' again.:)

Live Debate - DSAI vs Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek

Last night was a remarkable moment. I guess whoever watched the live debate last night could make their own presumption on who is the winner of the debate, based on the points tendered, not on personal attack. Despite facing police interrogation today, DSAI seemed to be calm and bubbly, as opposed to the scurrilous and mouth-foaming Shabby. No wonder some Malaysian considered DSAI as the best orator in Malaysia. He spoke eloquently and the formula presented by him was convincing, which are:-
1) Savings in government expenditure, including the problems of leakage (as he referred to as 'kebocoran'.)
2) Reducing the standby capacity in energy production from 40% to 20% by the Independent Power Producer (IPP).
3) Savings from the special dividend which will be given by Petronas, amounting to RM6 billion (DSAI suggested to save RM 1 Billion).
According to him, the government need to save up RM5 billion to sustain the subsidy and offers RM0.50 cut from the current petrol price.

DSAI had made a good job. He revealed the methods to reduce the oil price from the beginning of the debate, whereas the Shabby kept crapping on the economic recession, blaming the global situation(war in Iraq, possibility of attack in Iran and high demand by China & India). He even flashback to situation in 1974, where DSAI had lead a parade during Allahyarham Tun Razak's reign. Come on laa..This is not a room for personal attack. The speaker/mediator was biased as well. He did mentioned earlier that any personal attack would not be tolerated, but when Shabby go against the rule, he just kept silent.

During the second round, Shabby explained that if the Government keep on giving subsidy, it would benefit the giant company such as Shell,Esso which are operating here. He suggested that instead of giving subsidy, it would be better if the government gives money straightaway to its rakyat. (Is there any sign right now that they are willing to give money to the people?*Lol*). He even fooled himself by comparing Malaysia to Norway, which gives less subsidy, but their country has less corruption compared to Malaysia. DSAI later countered his statement, by stating that Norway's per capita income is 10 times higher than us(It's true, I checked in Wiki today, Norwegian enjoys third-highest GDP per capita in the world). The audience then applauded.

DSAI later explained that Malaysia's net profit for oil production is among the top 100 in the world. When the panel kept reiterating that Petronas contribute a huge sum of profit to our country, DSAI sarcastically said that he did not want to touch on Petronas, instead he wants to question on the funds which had been given to government.

The panel reminiscenced the fuel hike in 2006, where the government had saved 4.3 billion and promised to upgrade the public transport, but they only used 834.75 million out of the saving. The left-over of the money had been questioned. This time, the government can saved up to 13 billion. So what's the government plan for this huge some of saving? Apparently, Shabby twisted his answers, by directing to Venezuela, which the fuel price is 10 cent but their inflation rate is up to 30% and same goes on Iran. He didn't really answered the panel's question. He misled the audience to the recent embarassing concert during the oil hike protest. DSAI brilliantly countered his statement again, claiming that our inflation rate goes higher recently(in June, it's 6%). So, by comparing the ration of oil hike:inflation rate, to Venezuela and Iran, our is even worse!

When it comes to the final question, DSAI asked Shabby, why the hike is so drastic? Why the government broke their promise before the election of not raising the fuel price? Once again, he didn't answered the question. He ostensibly drawed us back to the reformation in 1974 led by DSAI, attacked DSAI personally like he had did during his introduction statement. Poor him, he had drained out of facts and ideas to answer and counter DSAI.

Shabby later questioned DSAI what would happen if Malaysia has run out of oil sources one day, will the PR continues to give subsidy or the price will raise up drastically? First few seconds, DSAI bashed him of not utilizing the opportunity to discuss about oil hike, instead misused the room for personal attack. *Lol*. He later stated that the oil will only run out in 2015 if Petronas stopped their work. He went further by defending Petronas, he only condemned the present government for their inefficient management of the funds. Yesterday, Petronas announced that they will give 6 billion as special dividend to the government. He suggested that the government can use 1 billion out of the dividend to bear the subsidy.

DSAI, although he is not an economic-graduate, he was equipped with facts and figures relating to economic statistic. He revealed to the audience that with every increase of 1 dollar, we will get a profit up to 360 million, and thus we have a huge sum of benefit. Yes, we are the importer and not among the top 20 (as mentioned by Shabby), of course with the current global situation, there would be an increase, but not so drastic until it burdens the rakyat. Shabby, on the other way round, is prepared on the perspective of 'personal attack' and 'sarcastic remarks' only. He came out with less facts and figures compared to DSAI. I bet most of the audience cracked a laughter when he mentioned that "Petronas hebat kerana UMNO". He even fooled himself with stupid jokes mentioning about minyak attar.. Haha,Shabby, now one whole nation know you can be a good comedian, replacing Mr Bean.

The best suggestion from the Panel is that "DSAI ...tak perlulah jadi PM, nasihat sajalah kat kerajaan sekarang..". DSAI sarcastically mentioned that he was there because he is not a PM, and even willing to give suggestions for the government, but is there any willingness on part of our present government to accept his ideas?

Shabby also seems to be lack of approach to defend the government. He keep reiterating the word "populist" and the phrase "unpopular decision". Well, they had ran out of weapon, those words are the only shields to protect them.

Though I preferred DSAI, I would like tender an impartial view here. I personally think that DSAI had given out good points, but he failed to elaborate his convincing views on how to tailored up with the economic recession if we reduced our oil price in this current global recession (Shabby pointed out good question here). Another problem, what if we had ultimately run out of the oil sources during 2015, would he continues to give subsidy or reduces the price drastically? He did not give a lengthy explanation concerning this matter at the end of the debate.

All in all, even the online poll in Malaysiakini proved that DSAI's voters had outnumbered Shabby. Obviously, the BN government had ran out of the high credibility leaders. The left-overs of their supporters are their MPs and loyal supporters (pakcik pakcik dan makcik makcik) who are not exposed to the alternative medias and the ICT. The young generations are wiser to judge who are the better and potential leaders.

Plaid Shirt

Was tagged by Miss Nayrell Musings so I post up this entry following up her tag, eventhough I didn't used to post any entry on fashion before.

Well, I saw this one girl in her blog clad up in this 'plaid shirt' before.(never know it is called as plaid shirt until Ainna mentioned about it..haha!). I only refer to it as checked-print shirt. So when I was goofing around the KB Mall back in trimester break, I saw this shirt on the piles of RM10 case. The girl in that blog and her shirt came across my mind all of a sudden. I also personally think that the check-printed shirt depicts the 'indie's darling'. So, I picked up this shirt without any hesitation cos it's so cheap and the color is nice (combination of blue, yellow, and orange).

I bought the belt above at RM2 from a thrift stall@Pasar Pagi Shah Alam. I'm a cheapskate, so I do always love cheap stuffs and lowest bargain. Mind again that my brand-new plaid shirt is only RM10. I'm not a fashion victim, I only hunt for cheap-but-nice fashion items. I quote a verse from 'Pork and Beans' by Weezer that definitely pictures me well, hehe..

...I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like

I'm finally dandy with the me inside

One look in the mirror and I'm tickled pink

I don't give a hoot about what you think..

Pork and Beans from The Red Album

Weezer was back! With their 6th Album-The Red Album (another album with color title after the 'blue' and 'green' albums). They released their album on 3rd July but poor them, it was leaked out before the release on the internet, and their single, 'Pork and Beans' was uploaded on p2p software like iMesh and Limewire.

When I first listened to the singalong melody of the Pork and Beans, it reminds me back to the glory days of Weezer, the chunka-chunka guitar hooks swing me back to 90's, as good as their Pinkerton, Blue, and Green albums. It almost resembling the El Scorcho or Buddy Holly. Yea, I was the number 1 fan of =w=, I listened to the Buddy Holly when I was at the age of 13(borrowed my uncle's cd at that time), and I was like mesmerized to their catchy-tunes and brilliant lyrics! Since then I started to look out for their other songs, where later I found out that Island in The Sun, Butterfly, and O'Girlfriend were magnificient too when I was in Form 4.

The picture above is the cover of the album. You can see that the band members are wearing the Village People costumes. Rivers Cuomo seemed to be getting older and more matured, but his wired-glass was never changed! His eccentric geekness rocks the socks through a clever and irrestisible lyrics and cranked-up amplifier!

No one can denies, Cuomo is a genius powerpop persona. Graduated from Harvard University, he was conferred a phi beta kappa (most prestigious honors for arts and science undergraduate in America). I personally admired him, as much as my honorable respect for the Icelandic Bjork.

Their v/clip for Pork and Beans is a must-watch one! It's so hilarious, featuring many YouTube celebrities. You'll definitely crack a laughter when you see the video!

I keep on repeating the song today. It's loud, very radio-friendly,till I can't resist to play it again and again. My cousin had just send The Greatest Man that Ever Lived, another hit from the Red Album. I cant make a review on it yet, since I had just received it and played it for the first time.

Overall, Weezer had emerged back from their stagnation period, during Maladroit and Make Believe. They're ready to rock your socks now!

Massive Reform: For Better or For Worst?

Yesterday's article in The Star was so imperative. The issue was taken from The Economist, written meticulously by Baraddan Kupusamy, criticizing the changes by Pak Lah. In his article, the reforms made by Pak Lah was compared to Mikhail Gorbachev (the last head of state of the USSR), whereby his reforms had overthrowed the Old Soviet regime in 1991. I was so eager to know about this guy. So, I 'wiki' and 'googled' up his name. There I found the lights out of my curiousity.

Gorbachev introduced Glasnost, which promotes openness, transparency and freedom of information in the Soviet Union government. Obviously, the traits of his reforms are tantamount to the positive changes by Pak Lah after the catastrophic-poll. He promoted openness and transparency by appointing two outspoken Senators, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and Datuk Shahrir Samad (well-known for his critic-minded during CheDet's reign). These two ministers had announced sudden reforms by establishing ACA, Royal Police Commission, and Judicial Appointment Commission. The rakyat welcomed these establishments as more and more 'skeletons in the closet' were revealed. More high-rank officers were detained for corruption, like yesterday, a high-rank officer from KTMB was interrogated for his mishap. In last few days news, a PO was detained when he forced a girl to perform oral-sex and subsequently raped her during investigation for a traffic-offence. The more 'interesting', allegations by Justice Ian Chin against the former Prime Minister. Like I said, more 'skeletons' popped out from the closet, more defects were discovered. I tried to link these with comments regarding comparison to Mikhail Gorbachev that oversaw the changes as the 'murderer' to the Soviet Regime. Well, changes can be for a better impact or for worst. It depends on how the rakyat accepting the changes, and the fidelity of the reforms itself. If rakyat can tolerate with the 'hidden skeleton' that had just popped-out, yes, it will be for better.

But if vice versa, ughh.. I won't say anything. There's an 'alligator' outside that curtails the expression of my thoughts. I won't blame the S.A 1948 and D.A 1957..MAYBE there is a good reason...yea...MAYBE.

Thaksin came across my mind while I was writing this post. He was overthrowed by a military junta, where during his reign, corruptions were at the peak, and hostility towards a free press (contemplating over RPK all of a sudden). It only came across my mind..I'm not ready to elaborate on it...I'm a 'potential-predator', who feared the 'alligator'.

Ohh...Positive-thinking! Towards a free press, I was contended that Harakah was already allowed to be published twice a week. This is a BETTER reform.

V for Vendetta

Yes yes I know the movie was outdated already. The movie was published in 2006 and I only watched it few weeks ago at home when it was screened in HBO. A bunch of gratitudes to Astro.Hahaha..Poor me! I was left far behind to talk about the movie when it was still sizzling back in 2 years ago.

The main character of the movie was 'V' (of course la right, you can even catch it from the title), who was a freedom fighter. His motive was to overthrow the present government, Norsefire, which practised oppression. One of his dialogue remains entrenched in my mind, "The people should not be afraid of the government, it's the government who should be afraid of the people". The significance of this quote is the guys of the rakyat to stand still without fear, and to oppose the government when they realized that the government is acting wrongly, putting aside the rights and sovereignity of the peoples. Well, we the Malaysian had been shocked with too many unanticipated government's hasty decision these past few weeks.First, the fuel price hike.Second, the salary's payment of the government servants for twice a month starting from this August, and thirdly, the budget deficit as a result of the economic turndown. When the awaken rakyat lamenting, causing the uproar, they acted in a hanky-panky way, twisted their agenda, blaming the current economy of the world. Do you think you can easily manipulate and deceive the people after the political tsunami?Back to the quote, the government should take a lesson from the 'tsunami', afraid of the consequences from their hanky-panky decisions. Wake up and smell the cappucino lah! The peoples can be subversive, any time from now on.

Another scene which strike my eye appeals was when thousands of peoples marched along the parade to the Parliament wearing V's mask. Frankly speaking, I was heartily touched of the scene. I was thinking about the Bersih rally when I watched the scene. Thousands of peoples wearing yellow shirt instead of the solemn-face mask. Now I'm wondering of the date of 5th July, where thousands of rakyat are expected to gather at KLCC, protesting for the fuel price hike. They are urged to wear red instead of the mask, symbolized anguish and dissatisfaction to the government for their ignorance. Well yeah, wearing red was better than wearing mask. When you wear a mask, your identity won't be revealed but when you are unmasked, wearing reds, there go your guts!

Well I'm still thinking of who the hell from our nation have enough physical and mental ability to depict the cunning V?V had undergone torture from Larkhill as a consequence of the bioterrorist attack and he developed his ability from the torture, which outraged his vendetta. Is there any resemblance of Larkhill here?I guess we would have a mutual thought here, it's something that is urged to be abolished for years...

Another scene which lured my attention was when Gordon showed Evey that he kept Al-Quran in his secret chamber, and told her that he is not a Moslem, but the beauty and the amazing content of the holy book attracts him to do so. Later on he was killed, purposely because the army found the Quran in his house! Here, it envisages that even the non-Moslem digested the Holy Book because of its perfect divine words. Ironically, it pictures how the white regimes treated the Moslem.

All in all, I will give two thumbs up for the movie and its depth-impact messages.

memento from mi amor!

Yay!mi amor just got back from Bandung and he brought back all these stuffs for me. Was so tormented without any sms or call from him for 5 days! and when he came back, calling me in the morning while I was still sleeping noticing that he's here already, and MMS me the souvenirs which he brought back, I was sooooo overjoyed and apologized him for the 'grace period'. Thanks, thanks a trillion dear. Currently listening to Annie's Song from Weezer, and I humbly dedicate this heartful and meticulous-written lyrics to YOU!

Erk...some old folks believed on this taboo. When a guy gives 'kain pasang' to his girl, jodoh tak sampai (their relationship won't be long). But I don't believe on this stupid taboo.

Gonna send the fabrics to the tailor for the coming 'baju raya'.
Now it's my favorite shirt!:)

You fill up my senses

Like a night in a forest

Like the mountains in springtime

Like a walk in the rain

Like a storm in the desert

Like a sleepy blue ocean

You fill up my senses

Come fill me again

Come let me love you

Let me give my life to you

Let me drown in your laughter

Let me die in your arms

Let me lay down beside you

Let me always be with you

Come let me love you

Come love me again

You fill up my senses

Like a night in a forest

Like the mountains in springtime

Like a walk in the rain

Like a storm in the desert

Like a sleepy blue ocean

You fill up my senses

Come fill me again

The hunt of thrifting @ KB!

Yay!found another thrift-shop at KB..or the exact place is Kok Lanas, with little help and direction from a friend. This thrift-store didnt sell vintage clothes, it merely has thrifted bags, belts,& watches, and yes its sorta rare&unique from other thrift shop, cos hey we cant easily find watches at vintage shop right?Plus the items are arranged and displayed neatly on the rack, so its like an 'invitation to treat' for the customer who entered into the shop.We can easily see the items without bowing and rummaging through a mountain full of dusty items!

So,when my friend first introduced the shop I was like kinda excited and overjoyed! At first instance I didnt thought to buy anything cos' I only bring RM50 in my wallet, even when my friend asked nok beli gapo? (What do u want to buy?)..I said takdok gapo-gapo kot, kelih kelih jah(nothing maybe...just want to have a look).

But I was overwhelmed with my "usual lust" once I got into the shop(ehhemm..not that "lust",i mean shopping).was lucky enough cos' we went to the shop a day after they displayed the new stuffs,so we got the chance to choose 'almost flawless' items.Plus theres lot of authentic branded stuff. So I ended up buying these bags and one butterfly-buckled belt.Ohh what a deviation from the prior intention!I'm broke, once again!

Item No.1 : Authentic Black DKNY Bag
Item No.2 : Over-sized Hobo Bag (I tied with butterfly-printed sash)
Item No.3 : Authentic Gucci Handbag
Item No.4 : Burberry Handbag (Fragrance-freebie)

Went to PCB(Pantai Cahaya Bulan, formerly known as Pantai Cinta Berahi..no offense, the former name sounds quite nasty) with a bunch of my friends yesterday.Well, they just came back from hiking expedition@Stong's and took a stop at Hanis's,& took a ride to Kota Bharu Maju 2008.So,here we come, sipping coconut-asli-dari-ladang & makan2 keropok lekor+crunchies seafood @ PCB.And yea,Man brought the camera,so we the cam-whores as usual lah..pukul-pukul gamba(how the Kelantanese refers to 'snapping pic').:)
